New heavens and new earth, married together; that is our destiny, that is the world’s destiny, and all because of Easter. And the closer we come to this destiny in the present is when, in the Eucharist, we anticipate the heavenly marriage-feast; the symbols of creation, bread and wine, are shot through with heaven, with God’s dimension, with the life and love of the Lamb.”
