Quote for Reflection (Sunday, May 9, 2021)

“Jesus, when he has passed through death, is restored to the world as the place and name in which any and every human being may find grace and hope and identity. His risen presence impels the disciples to make more disciples- more men and women who recover their life and their value in that presence. And to be a disciple, to be with Jesus, is to be baptized: baptism is the way in which each person is made present to Jesus crucified and alive, by a ritual act which places the person in the same process that Jesus described as ‘immersion’, the process of self-forgetting that leads to the cross.”
