Final Part of Bishop’s Message

God With Us

Christmas is about a loving God who gave himself through the child of Bethlehem, born in a stable, and who gave his life on the Cross at Calvary for our redemption. At the core of the Incarnation is the name Immanuel, which translates to “God with us.” This means that we are never alone. Jesus experienced the full range of emotions – loneliness, grief and hunger when he lived among humans. So, he understands and walks with us through our daily challenges and struggles.

Let us make the spiritual relationship which is manifested through the ministry of Jesus – serving the broken, feeding the hungry and bringing peace to others – an integral part of our Christian journey, as we celebrate God’s gift beyond a single day or Season.

As the relief, recovery and rebuilding continue, may the Spirit of God who gave, inspire us to always give for the good of others. May the spirit of Christmas, and the joy and peace which the Christ Child brings be ours all year round.
