Did you know? (Sunday, November 10, 2024)

In the Bible, angels are often described as human-like figures, and are never said to have wings. The depiction of angels with wings emerged notably in the 3rd – 4th century after Christ. Within the biblical texts, angels are not consistently distinct from humans. They possess a distinctive vocation, serving as spiritual messengers conveying divine messages to humans, effectively communicating God’s will. Additionally, they are entrusted with special missions on God’s behalf, for example, in rescuing people from danger. Angels are assigned names, with Michael being a well-known example. The name means “who is like God.”
