Did you know? (Sunday, October 20, 2024)
Each year, October 18 is the Feast of Saint Luke the Evangelist. Saint Luke is the patron saint of physicians and surgeons. He was a physician himself, as well as a companion of Saint Paul on his missionary journeys. Luke is traditionally credited with authoring the Gospel of Luke and the Acts of the Apostles, where he emphasized compassion, healing, and the importance of caring for others. His life and works reflect his deep concern for the physical and spiritual well-being of people, which is why he became associated with medicine and healing professions.
