Did you know? (Sunday, October 13, 2024)
The Church teaches that human beings currently live in an abnormal state of existence, often described as “sickness” or “spiritual ailment.” This means that humans possess inclinations and desires that lead them away from living in alignment with God and God’s intentions, ultimately leading to spiritual separation and death. Being “saved” then involves a divine intervention by God to remedy this condition, restoring human beings to God’s original plan for their lives. This healing activity of God is mediated through the Church and her sacred rituals or sacraments, all of which centre on the person of Jesus Christ. Through the Church’s healing ministry, humans are restored to health, characterised by complete love for God, fellow humans and all of Creation.
