Did you know? (Sunday, August 11, 2024)
Since its formation in 2012, the St. Andrew Parish Foundation has developed a comprehensive tour of the church and its cemetery, accompanied by a brochure for visitors. This tour emphasizes the significant role the St. Andrew Parish Church has played in the life of our country and diocese. For instance, it was the home church for some of our nation’s top leaders, and, of the 28 ordinations conducted by Bishop Christopher Lipscombe during his episcopacy, 24 took place at SAPC. The tour, designed and coordinated by the Foundation’s Board under the leadership of the late George Briggs, was presented to visitors in two segments: an initial virtual presentation led by Las Newman; followed by a tour of the church conducted by Brother John Aarons and a cemetery tour conducted by Brother Tony Patel. The Foundation has hosted tours for church members as well as visitors from our major universities, the British High Commission, and several groups interested in heritage and cultural tourism.
