One of our major outreach initiatives is called the “St. Andrew Settlement,” situated within the Majesty Gardens community, commonly known as “BackTo.” The community earned the name “Back-To” because it was intended to serve as the gathering point from where Marcus Garvey and his followers would leave to go “back to” Africa. In 2022, the National Housing Trust handed over keys to units in a new housing phase in the community called “Starline Court,” named in tribute to Marcus Garvey’s Black Star Line shipping company that aimed to transport goods and people to the African continent.
