At the recently held Lambeth Conference, there was a call to renew our commitment to Anglicanism’s Five Marks of Mission. The fifth of such marks is “To strive to safeguard the integrity of creation and sustain and renew the life of the earth.” The conference maintained that “For ourselves and for future generations we need to act now, urgently and at scale,” and that “actions are difficult to sustain unless there is also the transformation of hearts and minds from which such action flows. The climate emergency is not just a physical crisis – it is also a spiritual one.”
