Did You Know? (Sunday, December 19, 2021)

The Collect for the Fourth Sunday of Advent is found on page 158 of our BCP. It first appears in a 10th century service book used by Priests. It reminds us that God comes to us daily. This said, the Collect anticipates Christ’s second coming as it is described in Luke 19:44. In contrast to Christ’s first coming, however, where there was no room for him in the inn, the Collect prays that, this time, he “may find in us a mansion prepared for himself.”
