Did you know? (Sunday, December 5, 2021)

The collect for the second Sunday of Advent is to be found on page 156 of our BCP. It is based on the collect for the third Sunday of Advent found in the Church of South India’s Book of Common Worship. Its primary theme is “The Fore-runner.” Its reference to Christ as Redeemer and coming judge are also to be found in the collect appointed for Christmas Eve. The collect acknowledges we all have a role to play in preparing for Christ’s second coming.
