Did you know? (Sunday, November 21, 2021)
The proper disposal of waste, especially the ones humans produce, is key to our care of God’s creation. Unfortunately, we produce tons of waste and dispose of them in ways that harm the earth. Over 32% of us burn our garbage, and we illegally dump over 300,000 tons of waste annually. Burning adds to the warming of the planet and destroys the earth’s nutrients. Dumped garbage ends up in our drains, gullies, rivers and sea; it leads to flooding and compromise our health and the well-being of plants and animals. Stewardship of God’s creation means we (individually and collectively) must find better, more environmentally friendly ways to dispose of our waste.
