Did you know? (Sunday, September 13, 2020)

The Eucharistic Prayer recalls that Jesus was at a meal with his disciples when he blessed the bread and the wine, but more than that it recalls the central act of reconciliation before it is declared that though we are many we are one because we all eat of the one bread and drink from the one cup. The ending is just as significant. The modern liturgy ends not with a blessing but with a commissioning, the congregation is sent out to love and serve.
