Did you Know? (Sunday, December 22, 2019)

The angel, Gabriel, is mentioned only four times in the Bible. Twice he appeared to Daniel to teach him things beyond his comprehension, and in the New Testament, Gabriel announced to Zechariah the priest the coming birth of his son, John the Baptist, as well as the coming birth of Jesus, the Son of God, to Mary. The name Gabriel means “God is mighty” or “mighty man of God”, and is also one of the two archangels mentioned in Holy Scripture.
