Quote for Reflection (Sunday, March 22, 2020)

We will never see the beauty of spiritual reality without God’s illumination. We are guilty, corrupt, hard, ignorant and blind without the awakening, enlivening, softening, humbling, purifying, and enlightening work of God in our lives. Believe it or not, we will never see the wonder and glory of what the Word teaches, without God opening the eyes of our hearts and giving us a spiritual sense of direction. The reason for teaching and knowing these things, is to make us desperate and hungry for God, so as to let us plead and cry out to God for his help in reading and discerning God’s will for us via us reading the Holy Scripture/Bible.

John Piper; Open My Eyes that I may see.
