Hymns for Today's Services

My Dear Friends,

As I prepare this message I am unable to contain my deep sense of joy and gratitude for your response the Harvest Thanksgiving. I must commend all those who contributed to the harvest, as well as those who decorated and prepared the church building for worship. We give God thanks for his abundant blessings upon us!

We have received in writing confirmation of the Lord Bishop's appointment of the Reverend Major Dr. Sirrano Kitson as our rector. He is to assume responsibility as of January 1, 2005. I invite your prayers for Fr. Kitson and his family.

You would be happy to know that Fr. Leon Golding, a former curate of this church, has been appointed the new Archdeacon of Kingston. Please remember him in your prayers as well as his family as he takes on this new responsibility.

The Deanery of Portmore will be holding its inaugural service on the 6th of November at 4:00p.m. at the St. Paul's Mission in Greater Portmore. We are all invited to share in this wonderful occasion.

I remind you all of the Annual Business Retreat on the weekend of the 4th November. Kindly indicate your concerns to the leaders of your various fellowship groups or organizations within the church. I wish also to invite you share with us at the Church Hall on the 10th of November as we reflect on the theme: 'Death and Dying - A Christian Perspective'.

I pray that God will continue to uphold us during this period without a rector and like Paul in today's reading, I hope my dealings with you for all time will be "like a father with his children, urging and encouraging you and pleading that you lead a life worthy of God, who calls you into his own kingdom and glory."

With every blessing,
