My Dear Friends,

This Saturday and Sunday the 340th Anniversary Committee invites us to celebrate Easter with flowers and music. On Saturday afternoon Mrs. Gloria Reid will officially open the Flower Festival at 4:00 pm., and on Sunday at 4:30 p.m. six choirs, guest soloists and organists will envelope the church with their voices and music.

The Altar Guild will be joined by floral decorators from our sister churches, all of whom have been given a portion of Psalm 85 to interpret through their art form. There can be no doubt that the Psalms are an important resource for spirituality and have been so for countless generations. We are drawn to them because they mediate to us the presence of God in just about every conceivable situation. Psalm 85 reminds us that God has a history of being gracious. It is this gratuitous nature of God that the worshiper is being invited to embrace as we each come in search of forgiveness and restoration. We all look forward to see how our floral artists will treat this wonderful subject.

On Wednesday of this week we will begin our Sixth Alpha course. This is a short twelve week practical introduction to the Christian faith. It involves sharing in a meal, table fellowship with other members and a video presentation by Nicky Gumbel. If the kind of questions you frequently ask have to do with - What is truth? How can I be sure of my faith? How can I resist evil? then perhaps you need to sign up. The discussions that follow the video presentation take place in an informal and nonjudgmental context, thus giving voice to everyone. Participants of previous Alpha courses have witnessed to the fact that life after Alpha never remains the same. Come and see for yourself.

Today our Synod representatives will present the report on Synod 2005. Copies will also be made available for members of the congregation.

This morning we have three groups worshipping with us at 9:45. - representatives from the Jamaica Tourist Board celebrating their 50th Anniversary, a Lutheran/Episcopal group from Florida representing major contributors to Food for the Poor, and members of the St. Hugh's High School Inter-School Christian Group as they launch ISCF Week. We also welcome to our 7:30 a.m. Eucharist, parents, godparents and friends of three babies who will be presented for Baptism. A warm welcome to these and all other visitors.

Flowers at the foot of the altar are given in memory of Bishop and Mrs. Herbert Edmondson by their children.

Sincerely yours in Christ,
Robert

Psalm 100

Make melody to the Lord, peoples of the world; let's have a joyful outpouring of song. Serve him gladly, willingly, eagerly; dance into his presence for sheer joy. Never forget that this is God Almighty - he made us from nothing, we didn't spring into existence on our own - we are his creation, his people, his flock.

When you enter his presence bring a grateful heart, a happy heart, a song-filled heart. Thank and praise him for everything he's done.
Oh, how good he is, how inexhaustible his mercy, how undying his love!
